I had an aquaintence who claimed to have disolved a dogs carcass in a weighted wire basket submerged in an outhouse 'honeywell". When he later pulled up the basket by its attached chain, all that remained was the teeth. First pull the teeth, and dispose of them separately.

That's my motto at the moment. "Just do it".

For ages now, I've been trying to find a reason wgy my detective from Down Under should be in the British Police Force. Today on the news there was an article about British kids being forcibly sent to the colonies. The only thing I heard was that it was extremely cruel and harsh for the kids.
I'm not going to do too much research prefering to let my imagination work first. But, the time period is wrong so the forced emigration will have happened to his father. Then perhaps I can add a subplot about my hero searching for his grandparents. Ideas need to come before research.

Thank you very much! This really opened my eyes. I'm busy with my first novel. I've now spent about 3 months just researching and in fact haven't written a single word. I'm now closing every book and every website I am currently staring at and I am now going to write. When I get stuck with the facts then only will I research that specific fact and then carry on writing until I get stuck on a fact again.

I have seen the light! Thank you.

I'm a chem student and I think I have a solution for perfect body disposal.

1) buy biological washing powder from the supermarket that contains lipase and protease enzymes. This wouldn't attract much attention and are capable of dissolving soft-tissue into soluble gunk.

2) Cut up the body as much you can, add biological washing powder into something like a oil drum keep at around 60C and wait a couple of days and pour down the drain.

3)The bones will remain and can be disposed by crushing and dissolving lysol bathroom cleaner( which is 10% hydrochloric acid, you may even find stronger cleaner) again pour down the drain after you neutralize the solution with baking powder.

4) spray down and scrub down every surface that the body could have even potentially touch with lysol bathroom cleaner and bleach (basically acid and oxidizer which should destroy trace dna evidence)

This way the whole body basically ends up down the drain with no way of being retrieved. Of course this is just done as a thought experiment and there are other ways of linking someone to a murder.
