As my safe blowing robbery takes place in Scotland, safes and cracksmen need to be referred to by their Scottish slang names of “peter’s,” and “petermen” The crime is really beginning to take shape now. I need the name of a safe for my “peterman” to blow.

JOHN RAMENSKY will not be the actual cracksman of course, this will be attributing to him a robbery which he didn’t commit and would be libelous and an offence to his family. I will invent a fictitious cellmate in Peterhead Prison who was taught the secrets of blowing safes.

http://www.peterman.org.uk/fourpetermen.htm is where the information is on the web. Ramensky seems to have had a remarkable life and will make a great character for my own “peterman,” to refer to. I think my own cracksman will look up to John and will have anecdotes about his life in prison and the things he was told.

I’m getting really excited about the way the novel is shaping up and so far I have only written a couple of scenes
